Immunity during Covid times

Immunity during Covid times

The World Health Organization designated Covid – 19 to be a global pandemic and it is Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. The virus is transmitted through respiratory droplets, which enter the human body through airway epithelial cells and lower immunity. Now is the time to focus on preventing this disease by boosting immunity in a variety of ways.

So far, conventional prevention and treatment methods have proven ineffective, and potent antiviral medicine has yet to be discovered. Because of the disease's critical position, researchers are working hard to find immunity power increasing medicines to boost our immune system to combat all of these diseases.

During the pandemic, we went through many things. We witnessed death and elderly folks suffering since there were no beds available to admit the infected patients. There are no medicines or vaccines available. Since the virus is new, its intensity is determined by an individual's immunity power, age, and rate of virus exposure. All we sought was a robust immune system that could combat any pathogen. As a result, only a few people escaped, and we lost a few.

People who have certain pre-existing conditions frequently have a weakened immune system, such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and respiratory problems, are at a higher risk of developing Covid 19 difficulties, which worsens with age as our overall immunity power.

Immunity maintenance and immunological response are both influenced by sleep. Sleep quality is harmed by changes in circadian rhythms, which are linked to psychological issues brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ashwagandha is a positive immunity modulator that can also be utilized to kill the COVID-19 virus. Despite the ambiguity, Ashwagandha might be considered a safe herbal therapy for COVID 19 prevention.

Lactoferrin (LF), an innate immune-modulatory glycoprotein naturally produced in human and bovine milk, could be one feasible remedy. LF is also abundant in the mucosa, which serves as the first line of defense against microbial infections in the lungs.

Health supplements to Boost Immunity

To receive enough nutrients from the diet, it is better to start taking organic immunity booster supplements to support and strengthen our immunity system.

Vit-C: This vitamin is an essential member of the immunity system's army. It aids in the prevention of the common cold. It works as an antioxidant and protects against oxidative stress-induced damage. During the Covid period, oral use of herbal vitamin C capsules and organic health supplements has been shown to reduce symptoms in individuals with serious illnesses significantly.

Vit-D: Supplementing with vitamin D and herbal immunity booster has a minor protective effect against respiratory infections. Because most people are Vitamin D deficient, taking a Vitamin D supplement improves immune response.

Zinc: Zinc is necessary for white blood cells, which build up immunity and fight infections. A lack of zinc makes us more susceptible to the flu, cold, and other viral diseases. Zinc supplementation is recommended, especially for the elderly.

Moreover, we can do a few things daily to improve our immunity and detox our bodies.

  • Warm water to drink
  • Meditation, Yogasana, and Pranayama should all be practiced
  • Turmeric, cumin, coriander, and garlic should all be included in our diet
  • Drink Holy basil, Cinnamon, Black pepper, Dry Ginger, and Raisin herbal tea or decoction
  • We must substitute sugar with jaggery
  • To keep the nostrils clean, use ghee, sesame oil, or coconut oil in both nostrils
  • Inhale steam infused with Mint and Caraway seeds
  • 1-2 natural or organic immune system boosting capsules

While our healthcare workers fought the Covid-19 pandemic by putting their lives in danger, the ongoing outbreak, staying indoors, socially isolating ourselves from the virus, eating well, staying hydrated, naturally strengthening our immunity, and following a few simple hygiene practices are all things we can do to help.
